On the Painting Table

Just a heads up before I begin: I’ve started a painting twitch stream on Tuesdays, so if you’d like to chat with me while I paint, you can head to Our Twitch Channel every Tuesday night from 10:30PM eastern until around 11:30. Most of the following minis were painted during that stream.

Without further ado, here are the minis I painted recently:

Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Last time I shared minis on this site, I had started painting figures from Imperial Assault: Tyrants of Lothal. I had put off painting one of the heroes, Tress Hacnua, because I wasn’t sure if I could do her justice. Well, I finally worked up the courage to paint her, and honestly, I’m proud of myself. I managed to get some fine detail on this model, especially on the white lines of her jacket. I’m giving myself a gold star for this one.

Also, from a character pack, here’s a Jawa. I’m really happy with the eyes.

Wild West Exodus

I recently started collecting Wild West Exodus form Warcradle Studios. In fact, a few weeks ago, I did an unboxing of the Father of the Enlightened starter set. I’ve started painting the minis, and they’re pretty rad.

First up, we have Burson Carpathian, the eponymous Father of the Enlightened. He’s an aristocrat/mad scientist/general heel, and it’s great. He’s coming at you with his army of Frankensteins, so back off. I’m not sure if that’s a canister of eldritch chemicals he’s standing on, or if it’s unexploded ordinance, but he doesn’t seem to care.

Next, we have his brutes. These are the Frankensteins I mentioned above. I still have some work to do on these guys, especially the one with the “juiced Gatling gun,” but you can see what I’m going for in terms of death pallor. Please not the patina on the copper parts of the guy in the gas mask.

Dungeons and Dragons

Finally, we have this Heroforge model of MY WIIIFE as her Dungeons and Dragons character, Talia. Her familiar, Frank, sits on her arm, and she’s wearing my interpretation of a Cloak of Scintillating Colors. Or Cape, I guess. I bought the stl file, then had a local store (Gamers Haven in Parma, Ohio) print it off for me. I have no connection to that store, but they might be starting a Wild West Exodus night this summer, so if you’re interested in that game, head over there.

For next time, I should have more Wild West Exodus, Star Wars: Imperial Assault, and maybe some Warhammer 40,000 Genestealers to show off.
