Hey all!
As you may have noticed, we haven’t posted in a while. There are a couple of reasons for this, but I just wanted to post to say A) we’re sorry, and B) we’re back.
So why did we stop posting?
Well, as you may know, most of the writing here at Our Meeple Overlords is done by Jay. That’s me. I’m Jay. When we started this site, we were in what we thought might be the tail end of the pandemic, though it turns out, it was just the start. I was working as a freelance writer with a very flexible schedule. Em (my wife, who is in charge of our instragram page) and I were buying games in preparation for the “After Times.” This meant that we had lots of new games to play, and lots of time to actually play these games.
Fast forward to today. I have an actual position at a company (which I love, but it is more rigidly scheduled than my wild freelance days). The pandemic continues, so EM and I don’t make it out to the game store very often. Em also picked up more responsibilities at her job, so after work, we often don’t have the spoons to play a game.
However, like anything worth doing, sometimes you just have to schedule time to get it done. And that’s what we’re doing. Already, since the new year, we’ve upped the number of games we’ve played. We’ve purchased a few, and we have some Kickstarter purchases coming in the next couple of months. Also, I’ve been painting Warhammer 40,000 minis. so I have lots of pics to show you. And so, we’re back.
Our return may be a slow one. I’m making it a personal goal to write at least one article/review/painting log once a week for now, with more to come as I get reaccustomed to writing on a schedule with limited time.
