On The Table: September 7-13, 2020

Here’s what hit the Our Meeple Overlords table on the week of September 7th, 2020.

Rangers of Shadow Deep – Solo fantasy skirmishing! Miniature-agnostic! Campaign play! I played my final game before the review we posted last week. Be sure to check that out!

Everdell – We’re still not tired of this beauty. Build a village and fill it with critters. We have a review of this one, too! Em beat me, and it wasn’t even close.

Splendor – It’s Splendor. Build your engine, get those gems, comment on how much that one guy looks like Johnny Depp. When want to play a game but don’t have a ton of time, we break this out. I think I played my best game I ever have, but Em still won.

But you have heard of me.

Legendary: A Marvel Deckbuilding Game – We hadn’t played this game in YEARS. I’m not sure why we stopped, because it’s a great game, especially with the sheer number of expansions we have. We pitted the Hulk, Nick Fury, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, and Thor against Loki, the Thor Corps, the Enemies of Asgard, and the Kree Starforce, who were all attempting to build a force field. Why were they building a force field? I don’t know…it’s Loki. Why does he do anything?

Coimbra – Em and I picked this one up at Vault of Midnight a few years ago on our anniversary trip to Ann Arbor. It’s a dice-placement/Card-drafting point salad with gorgeous artwork. I rarely win, but this time, I did. Then I got a case of the giggles and looked like a jerk, and Em wouldn’t talk to me for about five minutes, so it was a phyyric victory.

Akrham Horror: the Card Game – The Blob That Ate Everything – We played an Epic Multiplayer of The Blob That Ate Everything with one in-person group and one out-of-state group via Zoom. Knowing that your actions are affecting people in a different time zone really adds to the game. Did we win? We hope to review this one soon, so we’ll save the spoilers for that!

The Blob was eating EVERYTHING.

What have you been playing? Drop us a line below, or tell us about it on twitter and let us know!
