Here’s what your friendly neighborhood Overlords played the week of September 28, 2020:
Century: Spice Road – One of our favorite deck-builders! I felt like I played my best game of it this week, but I still lost 83-86 against Em.
Arkham Horror: The Card Game – Carnevale of Horrors – We played our final (for now) in a series of stand-alone scenarios. We made it close to the end, but wound up floating face down in the canals of Venice. I would not recommend winding up face down in the canals of Venice. That water is dirty, and apparently filled with tentacled horrors.
Akrham Horror: The Card Game – The Dream-Eaters – We also started our first play-through of The Dream-Eaters, along with some socially-distant friends. This campaign can be played as two interconnected campaigns, so we’re playing the B campaign, The Web of Dreams. We were one turn away from my character, Mandy Thompson, being killed by spiders when Em, playing as Leo Anderson, finished the scenario. I love it when a plan comes together!
Onitama The Board Game (Digital Edition) – I’m still on my Onitama kick from last week. I haven’t gotten any better (in fact, I feel like I got worse), but it’s still a fun less-than-5-minute game. Read our review!
Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion – After a week or so off, we’re back on our Gloomhaven campaign. No spoilers, but we played the scenario “Agents of Chaos.” Due to some bad luck and misreading a special rule, I was taken out close to the end, and Em had to finish the mission without me. Her Demolitionist was one turn from exhaustion due to lack of cards, but she pulled it off! Wondering if Jaws of the Lion is for you? Read our review!
Sentinels of the Multiverse (Digital Version) – Another digital version of a physical game. I know I’ve said this before, but this might be my favorite digital port. I think I used to be good at this game, but not so much now. Still, if you’re looking for some digital board gaming action, you can’t go wrong with this one.
