On the Table: October 12-18, 2020

Here’s what we’ve been up to the week of October 12, 2020:

Arkham Horror: The Card Game – Em and I finished up our B campaign of The Dream Eaters with our socially-distant friends (who played the A Campaign), made new characters, and started the A campaign. No spoilers, but we beat the campaign in that 1st playthrough, and I think we’re off to a good start in our second run.

Axis & Allies – I’m playing an asynchronous game of Axis & Allies with the same socially distant friends as Arkham (plus a few others). I’m the US, and Japan is giving me some problems in the Pacific, but the allies have Germany temporarily surrounded. I’d say more, but Loose Lips Sink Ships, or so I’ve heard.

Anachrony – We bought Anachrony a few weeks ago, but it was kind of intimidating, what with all the icons and pieces. We finally broke it out, and after 4 hours (!!!), we think we got the hang of it. Time Travel, paradoxes, post-apocalyptic resource gathering, worker placement…this is kind of a kitchen sink game, but I think it all comes together? I’ll have to play it again to form an opinion, but I am looking forward to it.

Lots of bits. Lots of icons. It’s…a lot.

That’s all we played, though we played several sessions of Arkham, so this week has been just as busy as the previous weeks, gaming-wise.

What have you been playing? SERIOUSLY, WE WANT TO KNOW! Drop us a line in the comments, or find us on twitter, facebook, and instagram!
